The Japan Cultural Society and Research Institute of Northeastern Pennsylvania, LLC. is proud to announce that we now carry swords and supplies for students of the martial arts as well as traditional Nihonto for the collector of Fine art. Our extensive inventory includes one of a kind traditionally made Japanese swords of various periods and their accompanying furniture such as tsuba (sword guards). All traditionally made swords are personally reviewed and approved by Mr. Benson within Japan prior to their introduction to our inventory. Special arrangements can be made for the purchase of a custom tailored hand made sword or tsuba from Japan. If interested, please contact us directly to discuss associated finder's fees and costs.

We have received many requests from students of the martial arts for swords and supplies such as bokuto and sageo. As a result, we are pleased to introduce our own line of high quality, affordable, Asian made, carbon steel blades. These blades come in high polish and should not be confused with lesser quality stainless steel or aluminum alloy blades. Our blades also include a full tang and are "grooved" resulting in a superior product of lighter weight and exquisite balance. All bokuto and sageo are imported from Japan. Our bokuto are made of a "tight" grain lightweight red or white Japanese oak. We also provide high quality polish and restoration services for your Japanese sword. These services are available for Nihonto produced within all historical periods and encompass regional schools of various Japanese family traditions. Our restoration services include the Japanese sword in its entirety. Depending upon the depth of restoration, services are either performed within the United States or sent to craftsmen within Japan for deeper evaluation.
