About Us

JCS offers membership to those interested in Japanese culture and language as well as a professional apprenticeship program for the study of traditional Japanese martial arts known as bujutsu. Nestled in the picturesque mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania and housed on the grounds of the private estate of Mr. Benson, the corporation maintains a gallery dedicated to Japanese swords of various historical periods, a Zen scholar’s garden and a research library consisting of over 3000 video and reference volumes. Although not open to the general public, the Zen garden, research facility and library are made available to members of the Professional Bujutsu Apprenticeship Program by appointment.
